It would be difficult to find a biomass stream that is garnering as much excitement, investment and optimism as algae currently is. By nearly any measure, if algae achieves the potential many industry insiders think it has, this energy crop will be a game changer in the biomass to energy space. With projected ‘per acre’ productivity levels orders of magnitude higher than any other biomass stream and its uncanny ability to gobble problematic carbon dioxide stream, the algae industry is rightly on a growth trajectory. Panelists in this session will provide a snapshot of where the industry is regionally, nationally and globally.
  • Moderator: Stefan Unnasch, Senior Partner, Life Cycle Associates LLC
  • Stan Barnes, Chief Executive Officer, Advanced Algae-based Multi-Product Production System
  • Bill Charneski, Senior Director Product Engineering, OriginOil Strategies for Utilizing Whole Algae Biomass
  • Gregory Schwartz, Director Systems Engineering, Kent BioEnergy Use of Food Waste and Anaerobic Digestor Effluent for Commercial Scale Microalgae Production
  • Leslie van der Meulen, Vice President Business Development, Aurora Algae The World’s First Sustainable, Scalable Commodity: The Algae Paradigm Shift
